Journal Postings: Kent Perdue

(10/22/09): Update
Still at Arrowmont. Settled into my new studio very nicely now. I've gotten the tools that I need, matterials and recenly built a traditional woodworkers bench. I recently got accepted into a exhibition in Lexington, KY (Generously Odd) currated by Travis Townsend. Starting to plan my Trip to Japan that I will be taking once my residency here at Arrowmont is over. Towards the end of December I will be going to Philadelphia to to carry out some of my proposal goals. Back in July I went to Anderson Ranch and took a class with Micheal Holsaluk, it was great. He invited me to be in a show that he curates (Artifacts) In Saskatchawan. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in a previous post but I also purchased a Nikon D90 which is the best. I've been able to take some really nice source pictures and shots of my work. Oh, and here at Arrowmont the residence have a year long gallery space that we can change whenever we want, VERY COOL. I recently had some one buy all seven of these little chair rings that I make. Well, sorry that all this was so skattered. Have a great day, Kent

This is my studio here at Arrowmont, its great. I am currently working on a canoe and a stool. Tools I have purchased have been a plasma cutter, sliding miter saw, 12" disc sander, osilating spindle sander and an electric chainsaw. In addition to these tools and the other ones that I already own Arrowmont provide a lathe, drill press, band saw and an air compressor. Im off to a good start and have avoided being eaten by a bear.
