(05/05/09): SOFA NEW YORK
SOFA New York : held at Park Ave. Armory from April 15th to April 19th. SOFA New York was much smaller than SOFA chicago, but interesting and exciting same as Chicago. It was a very refreshing moment for me to be in that environment, see the people who loves and care about art even though the economy is bad. There was lots of interesting jewelry galleries, such as Sienna Galler, Jeweler's werk, Aaron Faber, Charon Kransen,Ornamentum,, and so on. Whenever I visit the actual place of "art activity" it's very refreshing and sometimes feel shameful that I'm the part of it. But it was nice to see all the art works, see artist and listen to their proud art works, and look at the current trends of the art world.

(05/05/09): Lark Book submission
I got accepted for 500 Plastic Jewelry Designs, which will be in storessometime in early fall of 2009. Exciting news! Here are some information about this book ====================================================== The popular 500 series takes its hippest, most fun approach yet, with an intoxicatingly vibrant and technically diverse collection of contemporary jewelry. Juror Susan Kasson Sloan has put together a groundbreaking survey of the best work being done with this thoroughly modern material. Every page offers some delightful eye candy, with pieces that stretch from the subtle and sublime to the fantastically humorous. There’s jewelry that tells a story, and jewelry that cleverly incorporates recycled materials—including sunglass lenses and knitting needles. In true 21st century style, much of the work is being designed and produced with cutting-edge CAD CAM technologies. The extremely talented artists include Jantje Fleischhut; Lisa and Scott Cylinder; Adam Paxon; Felieke van der Leest; Ted Noten; Svenja John; Pavel Herynek; Karin Seufert; and Margaux Lange. (11/12/08): SOFA Chicago
I went to SOFA Chicago last weekend, it was my first visit to SOFA, and it was amazing to see all the art works in various materials, feel the energy of the craft field, and listen to great lectures. It was a really refreshing experience at the Chicago SOFA, and very inspiring. Weather was crazy cold, but it was all worth it. Along with the SOFA @ Navy Pier, I also went to Museum of Contemporary Art, which had a great exhibition of Jenny Holzer (In the Public Eye), and Art Institute Chicago Museum which had amazing collection including George Seurat's 'A Sunday on La Grande Jatte (1884)', Jackson Pollock, and many more. Overall, it was a great experience, and i'll defienetely go back and visit SOFA NY coming up next year. I'll post some pictures i took at Chicago.

I moved to NY from Oregon, it was a long trip. I am trying to figure out spaces for setting up my own studio, while i'm continuing my studio practice at Stuido 174 in brooklyn.

(10/30/08): BFA work
i'm working on taking good photographs of my BFA terminal project, here are some images of my current work. i'm trying to work more with this process, making some new stuff, etc. New York City is completely different from Oregon. It's much busy and alive. I really like living in the city, crusing museums and galleries during the weekend, lot to see and lot to experience. hope i can get many inspirations for my future work from this city energy!
